A discreetly perfumed nose of red and blue pinot fruit with violet, briar and warm earth undertones that are reflected by the rich, full and serious medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a dusty and firmly structured if slightly edgy finish. This should be able to round out with a year or two in bottle though for now, a bit of youthful asperity dominates the finish.
The 2006 Pinot Noir Premier Cuvee is medium ruby-colored with aromas of spice box and red fruits. Silky, supple, and forward on the palate, the wine has attractive flavors but is in need of greater depth. (JSM)
Medium red. Fresh raspberry, blackberry and Asian spice aromas convey ripeness and clarity. Sappy red and dark berry flavors offer good palate coverage and a bright note of orange peel. The spice character returns on the moderately long, sweet finish. Offers immediate, fruit-driven appeal and is more exotic and alluring than the '05 version. (JR)
Ripe and spicy, with a smoky edge to the currant and plum flavors, lingering nicely on the open-textured finish. (HS, Web Only-2008)
