93 points from Wine Spectator: "Bold, ripe, rich and focused, with deeply concentrated wild berry, blackberry and blueberry flavors, presented in a full-bodied, plush and complex manner, ending with ripe, mouthcoating tannins and a pretty dash of toasty oak. Best from 2009 through 2014. 350 cases made." (Dec. 15, 2008) The new line-up of syrah-based wines from Lewis Cellars is here, and the wines are better than ever. The Napa Syrah, which comes from hillside vineyards with low-vigor volcanic soils, is a richly-fruited one, with hints of sweet oak spice and hints of cocoa. Brooding blackberry fruit, a nice acidic lift and firm tannins mean this is a wine for decanting now or cellaring for a few years. Only 350 cases produced.
