This is Pine Ridge's first bottling with their new label, but rest assured that the wine inside still adheres to the same standards of quality the winery has held for the past 30 years. The majority of the fruit in the blend comes from Pine Ridge's estate vineyards in Oakville and Ruthorford. These two regions' dominant characteristics - the berry fruit from Oakville and the famed "Rutherford dust" - come through clearly, complimented by aromas of fresh-brewed coffee, toffee and briar fruit on the wines ebullient nose. On the palate, the wine opens up with sweet red and black fruit, carried along on a current of black tea and toasty oak spice then tied up with grippy tannins. Give this a decant now to let it open up, or hold for a few years.
