A bold, fruit-filled Pinot Noir for those who like their wine to have a little umph, but still like things balanced, too. Soaring aromas of dark fruit, garrigue and truffles are punctuated by sweet oak spice, while the wine's palate is richly textured, with layers of chocolate, spice and smoke imbuing the fruit with seductive intrigue. 1076 cases produced. The Wine Spectator says: "Plum and cherry flavors give body and flesh to this wine that's a touch on the green side otherwise, with herb and sage notes. Best to give it a year or two in the bottle. 469 cases made." One of the San Francisco Chronicle's Top 100 Wines of 2009: "Winemaker Scott Shapley has ripe fruit flavors driving Roessler's Anderson Valley, rounded out with cola spice and musky black cherry that give it a luscious depth."
