Sweet and succulent in the nose with a broad appointment of deep, cherry-like fruit and attractive highlights of toast, cream, and caramel, this well-stuffed wine delivers nicely on the palate with solid, fully fruited, ripe-cherry flavors. Both a bit of grippy tannin and apparent heat work to noticeably roughen up the slightly dry finish, yet there is no lack of extract at the end and either further aging or service with richer meats is sure to help smooth things out.
There are 3,014 cases of the 2003 Pinot Noir Andreen-Gale Cuvee. With a creamy, oaky nose as well as plenty of sweet cherry, black fruit, spice, and vanilla cola-like aromas, it is a medium to full-bodied, fleshy, spicy, long wine to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. (RP)
