Just 45 barrels were produced of this rare red, which is a field blend (88% Zinfandel, 12% Carignane), like pretty much all of Ridge Vineyards' amazing releases. Stone Ranch lies on the low hills at the western edge of Alexander Valley close by the Geyserville vineyard. Round river rocks, collected from the fields in years past, line the edges of the property. Stone Ranch was purchased (from George Stone) in the mid 1950's by Everett Lampson, who replaced the prunes and pears with vineyard. Jim Furlong, who is married to Everett's granddaughter, farms the ranch today, demonstrating the care and dedication to quality Ridge seeks in all its growers.
