Trias: An ancient geologic time period during which the limestone-rich clay soils of Clos de Trias were born. It is this unique vineyard soil that convinced Californian winemaker Even Bakke and his Champenoise wife to put down roots in the southern Rhone appellation of the Côtes du Ventoux. All 25 hectares at Clos de Trias are farmed naturally, with the utmost respect for the ecosystem. The 2007 Clos de Trias is composed of 70% grenache, 20% syrah, 6% carignan and 4% cinsault. The rich, ripe black cherry and plum flavors aret textured with silky tannins and balanced by natural acidity. 14.2% abv.
