93 points Robert Parker: "Also ageworthy is the flamboyant, deep bluish/purple-hued 2007 Pinot Noir Melville Vineyard. Sweet scents of spring flowers, kirsch, black raspberries, earth, and spice emerge from this deep, full-bodied wine. It possesses silky tannins as well as a layered, full-bodied, concentrated finish with no hard edges." (08/09) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and complex, with savory herb, beef, spice and dried berry flavors that are intense, full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a long, persistent finish weaving the flavors together. Drink now through 2017. 107 cases made." (02/10) 90(+?) points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Black and blue fruits on the nose, with notes of cherry pit and licorice lending a serious mien. Weighty but energetic, offering youthfully bitter blackberry and blackcurrant flavors and a note of bitter chocolate. The finish is spicy, sweet and extremely long but a bit undifferentiated, which is probably just a function of this promising, deeply concentrated wine's youth. Give it a few years in the cellar."
