Tasting Notes

97 points and the Wine Enthusiast's #2 Cellar Selection of 2009: "Wonderfully aromatic, this sure-to-be-legendary wine offers richness, ripeness, and pure yellow fruits, peaches and apricots, all alongside a structured strain of chalky minerality. It is a wine for long aging, the wood spice just becoming integrated, the fruit still in its first vibrancy. But eve now, it fills the mouth with generous fruits, and a great finish of citrus." (12/09) 92-94 points Robert Parker. 93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's IWC: "Bright, pale, green-tinged yellow. Explosively sappy, perfumed nose offers fresh apricot, grapefruit peel, flowers and spices. Dense yet weightless in the mouth, with wonderfully silky sweetness to the gripping flavors of lemon, flowers and spices. A wine of almost painful intensity and sappy cut. This saturates the mouth with chewy fruit and perfume, finishing with an exotic suggestion of coconut." 91-95 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh and bright, with mineral, lemon and apple aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with a lemony palate, fresh acidity and a long, subtle finish." K&L's notes - Very delicate with white flower aromas and clean crisp citric finish. I love it. Trey and Ralph thought it was a bit light. At UGC this wine was pure and zesty with tons of ripe citric fruit on the palate. Tastes great right now!
