Darnley's View is made with six carefully selected berries, seeds, peels, roots and flowers known collectively as the botanicals - Juniper, Lemon Peel, Coriander, Parma Violet, Orris Root, Elderflower. The strongest elements, other than the obvious Juniper, are the lemon peel and elderflower. Hints of violet/lavender and coriander spice frame this lovely London dry very nicely. Soft, flower, intriguing little gin received a glowing review from the Spirits Journal, "Pristine appearance; sediment free. I respond favorable to the high-level floral and citrus (lemon and lime zest) notes that dominate the opening whiffs - the juniper component lives at the lower depths; additional time in the glass finally allows the juniper to make a statement but also the's a rooty/earthy elemnt that must be orris and angelica that perfect play-mates with the juniper pininess. Entry is sublimely structured, with flowers in the lead and juniper and citrus supporting; midpalate focuses on the sweet note of the citrus aspect as the juniper fades almost totally. The midpalate sweetness might be an issue for some bartenders who prefer dryness, but aside from that I think this is a well-made London Dry gin." 3 stars Spirits Journal
