92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Nov/Dec 10: "Greenish gold. Sexy, aromatic nose offers orange, fresh pineapple, white flowers, smoke and spices. Dense and round but energetic, with ripe acids supporting the sweet citrus and tropical fruit, spice and floral flavors. In a distinctly gentle, ripe style for Talley and likely to give early pleasure. Brian Talley said that "this is the one for fans of rich, older school California chardonnay." According to Wine Spectator: "Chablis-like, with its flinty, minerally edge to the core of lemon-grapefruit citrusy notes. Full-bodied, clean and delicate on the finish. Drink now through 2016." (05/11) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Chardonnay Rincon Vineyard is one of the richer, fatter wines in this lineup of 2008 Chardonnays. It possesses gorgeous textural richness and a voluptuous personality. The wine’s overt tropical fruit and extroverted personality will appeal to readers who enjoy bold Chardonnays. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016." (08/11) This Chardonnay has an old world style with layered aromas of lime, lemon peel, fresh coconut, vanilla bean, and limestone with hints of anise. On the palate, this wine has a weighty texture with distinct flavors of citrus and creamy custard that are balanced by a bright minerality that finishes long and dry with a clean acidity. The concentration of flavors in this wine lends itself to pair well with buttery seafood dishes like lobster and Ono.
