According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan/Feb '01: "Full ruby-red. Roasted aromas of blackberry, licorice and pepper; distinct port-like notes of surmaturite Rich, ripe and high in alcohol; a big, old-style Gigondas with superb sweetness and strong notes of superripe grenache. But suggestions of incipient oxidation limited my enthusiasm. Seems quite evolved, but may well have the sheer stuffing to last for several years in bottle. Finishes with substantial, slightly dry tannins and a peppery aspect."
