Shows real cool coastal influence in the brisk acidity, delicate structure and deep flavors of cherries and cola, which seem to have a long hangtime complexity. Very good.
Ruby-red. Intensely floral aromas of raspberry, cola and rose, lifted by a pungent white pepper quality. Spicy red berry flavors gain flesh and sweetness with air, picking up a smoky mineral quality and a note of candied flowers. Finishes juicy and very long, with berry skin and peppery spice notes. Most of this fruit comes from Green Valley, according to Ken Freeman. (ST)
Surprisingly open for the very young wine that it is, this juicy, generously fruited offering is simply brimming with succulent, oak-sweetened cherries, and it already shows lots of polish and the lovely velvety feel that marks Pinot Noir at its best. There is not a great deal of complexity to be found, and time may bring more richness and range, but, even if what you see now is all that you get, the wine hits all the right varietal marks and wins enthusiastic endorsement.
