From Ch. Rieussec, Château de Cosse has characteristics very similar to the "Grand Vin", but with shorter ageing in barrels. It may be enjoyed at a younger age than its "Grand Vin" counterpart. It possesses the typical characteristics of a fine Sauternes. The origin of the name Château de Cosse comes from a plot of grapevines called Cosse. The 2001 shows a fne and elegant nose with notes of candied and caramelized pear. A fresh and lively attack in mouth. An open and easy to drink wine dominated by gingerbread, dried apricot and a touch of citrus fruits coming from the Muscadelle. A beautiful and well-balanced finish show that this wine is now at its best.
