Don't let the little critter on the label fool you. This is serious wine! 94 points and named one of Wine & Spirits "100 Best Wines of the Year" in 2010: "John Williams at Frog's Leap is not out to make the ripest Cabernet in the valley. He's a grower, and it appears that he tuned his organically farmed vines precisely to the long, moderate 2007 season, producing a wine that stretches from the roots to the leaves and reaches toward cool, pure, tightly balanced fruit. It's an elegant Caberent, the fruit transparent enough to show the character of Rutherford through the lens of woodland strawberries and red and black currants. Delicious on release, this gets better with air, as it will in bottle. A wine to cellar for ten years and enjoy along the way with lamb." (06/10) 91 points and a "Cellar Selection" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "Frog’s Leap strove for elegance above power in this modulated, ageworthy wine. Tasted against bigger, riper Cabs, it’s almost lean, with herb-infused red cherry, violet and mineral flavors, wrapped into complex tannins. The alcohol is a refreshingly low 13.6%. This is a connoisseur’s wine, and it should develop for 10- 15 years in a proper cellar." (12/1/10)
