The 2010 Bedrock Heirloom Wine Bedrock Vineyard is a hugely intriguing wine made from a blend of 60% Zinfandel, 25% Carignane and 15% comprised of 22 varieties that are interspersed throughout the vineyard. Dark black cherries, plums, graphite, mint, wild herbs and licorice are woven together in this gorgeous, finely sculpted wine. Layers of sweet, perfumed fruit develop in the glass, adding lift and freshness. Firm tannins suggest the wine will drink well for a number of years. (AG) 92+
Glass-staining ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet displays scents of black raspberry, cherry compote, sandalwood and potpourri. Sappy, palate-staining dark fruit and floral pastille flavors show excellent intensity and clarity, picking up spiciness with air. Fine-grained tannins lend shape to the very long, spicy finish.
Briary and rather rough around the edges, with black cherry and brown baking spice aromas and zesty, ripe blackberry cobbler, tar and roasted sage and anise flavors that finish with rustic tannins. (TF)
