The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a very typical wine from this appellation. Spices, grilled herbs and new leather add considerable complexity to the dark fruit. I especially admire the finesse and fabulous overall sense of harmony here. This is a highly representative Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)
Good ruby-red. Sexy, musky aromas of currant, mocha and leather. Then suave and fine-grained in the mouth, with lovely energy and finesse to the red berry and spice flavors. The firm, persistent finish features big but ripe and harmonious tannins. (ST)
Ruggedly tannic, yet showing generous ripe plum, blackberry and wild berry fruit that's intense and persistent. Keeps its focus. Best from 2013 through 2027. (JL)
