Ultrarich and layered, with complex, firm loamy earth, dried berry, black cherry and plum flavors evenly displayed, showing a crushed rock and loamy earth aftertaste, with pleasing suppleness. Drink now through 2023. (Wine Spectator Insider)
(70% whole clusters): Good full red. Deeply pitched aromas of plum, redcurrant and earth. Fat, broad and sweet, with plummy fruit accented by spicy oak. Not quite as vibrant as the Sonoma Coast bottling. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and a savory earthy quality. El Molino does not use commercial yeasts or add bacteria for the malolactic fermentation.
