Aromas of sweet strawberries, fresh mushrooms, and dark fruits. Full-bodied, with super fine tannins and a long finish of dark fruits and autumnal character. Gorgeous finish. Exuberance in a classy way. Better in 2013. 170 cases produced.
The 2009 Pinot Noir Suerte Solomon Hills Vineyard is a dazzling wine bursting with dark jammy fruit, blueberries, licorice, smoke and tar. Elements of power and sensuality take turns in this beautifully balanced, impeccable Pinot. The aromas and flavors build impressively towards the deep, muscular finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021. (AG)
Bright ruby-red. Black and blue fruits on the nose and palate, with complicating notes of cola, incense and floral oils. Juicy and penetrating, with a velvety texture and a hint of bitter chocolate on the finish. Rich but lithe pinot with excellent finishing clarity and spicy persistence. This is awfully delicious right now but it also benefits quite a bit from aeration. (JR) 92+
