One of the best Biondi-Santi's in years. This is really silky, with plum and chocolate and hints of cedar. Some citrus as well. Full body, with gorgeous fruit and a persistent finish. Give this another three to four years to open.
The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is remarkably harmonious at this young stage, quite a departure at Biondi-Santi. The 2006 shows dazzling richness and integrity in its powerful fruit in a totally captivating, sensual style. This is a beautifully centered, complete Brunello with a bright future ahead of it. The supple texture up front is matched by strict tannins on the finish in this taut red. Black cherry, blackberry, mineral and spice flavors abound as this cruises to a long finish. The tannins are just a tad assertive now, so be patient. Best from 2013 through 2027. (BS)
This gorgeous wine from Biond-Santi represents one of the best Brunellos ever made by this storied Montalcino producer. The wine is clean, fresh and shows a slow, steady evolution in the glass. It is also more concentrated, rich and intense than recent vintages.
