The 2009 Sticks and Stones is a gorgeous wine laced with fragrant red cherries, plums, flowers, spices and sweet herbs, all of which come together beautifully. Soft and textured throughout, the 2009 Sticks and Stones possesses gorgeous length and an attractive, open-knit personality. Bright red fruit notes reappear on the finish. In 2009 the blend is 64% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre and 7% Syrah. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.
Bright ruby. Hugely aromatic nose displays scents of candied red and dark berries, incense, lavender and Asian spices. Deep and fleshy but energetic, with powerful raspberry and cherry-cola flavors picking up weight with air. Shows excellent clarity on the very long finish, with the spice and cola notes echoing.
Fresh and snappy, with vibrant, spicy dried berry, fresh earth, anise, sage and cedar flavors. Firm and well-structured, with the tannins giving the final flavors excellent traction. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Drink now through 2020. 350 cases made.
