Darker, blacker colour than the 1996. Light nose. Very airy-fairy Margaux on the nose. Denser on the palate than the 1996 but a bit savage and aggressive in terms of both flavour and texture. Pretty robust aggressive tannins. I would wait a while for this. (JR)
This estate's second wine, the 1995 Pavillon du Chateau Margaux, may turn out to be one of the most delicious examples the property has made. The wine is forward, sexy, round, and generous, with gobs of black fruit and a subtle dosage of new oak. (RP)
Impressive deep ruby color. Perfumed, inky, dark berry aroma. Sweet, supple and velvety on the palate. Finishes with lots of dusty tannins and an enticing floral note. Atypically strong for this wine. (ST)
Beautiful aromas of blackberry and spice, with a hint of licorice. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a refined finish. Mushroom and berry character. (JS, Web-2007)
