We are enamored with the sensational value of Chateau Gaillat. The '95 shows a bit more maturity but all the same delicious components of the '96. Freshly roasted coffee and cassis aromas with full, complex, deep flavors on the palate with soft round tannins. Exceptional value from this outstanding and underrated Graves producer. Gaillat only produces red wine today, and the switch to focus entirely on the reds has really paid off. There are a lot of great wines in stock, but in terms of delivering complexity of flavors and just downright tasty wine, Gaillat is tough to beat. The blend is roughly 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Malbec.
