Bright ruby-red. High-pitched, explosively perfumed aromas of red berries, spicecake, incense and herbs. Lively and precise in the mouth, offering gently sweet, expansive strawberry and raspberry flavors, along with star anise and cinnamon nuances. Suave, silky and pure, finishing with outstanding clarity and persistence. This was fermented with 25% whole clusters. (ST)
An impressively complex and highly perfumed nose offers up interesting notes of tangerine, citrus, spice and diverse ripe red berry fruit aromas. The suave, generous and quite forward flavors retain a fine sense of detail before terminating in a dusty and much less grapey finish that displays impeccable balance and fine length. This very generous effort is not as complex as the Abbey-Harris but there is sufficient underlying material that greater depth has the potential to develop in time. *Outstanding*
Fresh wild strawberry scents and riper, rhubarb notes lend this Pinot a balanced sweetness. It's spicy and clean. Serve it slightly chilled with lamb roasted with eggplant.
