Another impressive wine, the 2010 Zinfandel has developed beautifully over the last year. Today, the 2010 is rich, dark and intense. The aromas are still very much primary, so readers who like complexity and nuance will have to let this sit in the cellar for another few years. Still, it is impressive. Good full ruby-red. Crushed blackberry, licorice and pepper on the high-toned, perfumed nose. Densely packed and vibrant, with captivating peppery lift to the intense dark fruit flavors. Finishes with substantial ripe tannins and excellent length. Seriously good zinfandel, from a site that winemaker Thomas Brown says benefits from cool years. These grapes were harvested in late October in 2010. (ST)
