100% Pinot Noir, fermented to 12.5% alc. with 5 g/L dosage, the wine aged a minimum of 24 months on lees. Bright, light salmon pink colour with some depth, the bead very fine and persistent. This has a full, solid and voluminous bouquet with deeply packed aromas of bready autolysis laced with strawberry and red fruit notes. This is very expressive of Pinot Noir. Dry to taste and fulsome, with mouthfilling flavors of stonefruits, red berries and brioche, the palate is open and broad, but well-proportioned with weight and depth.
Rich and generously flavoured, this rose is immensely appealing with floral, strawberry, white peach and yeasty characters on the nose. The palate is opulent and expansive with creamy texture and a lengthy finish backed by crisp acidity. A seriously good rose with a lovely seductive feel. $35.00. Moderate availability. 12.5% Traditional sparkling cork.
Clear pink fruit with a gently creamy edge of fresh bread dough, leading to a palate that has bright and light red-berry flavors with a smooth, fresh and lightly bready finish. Pure pinot noir. Drink now.
There’s impressive flavor depth to this clean, firm sparkler, its toasty lees character yielding scents of caramel and tart apple. The texture is creamy and soft, ready to pour with crab.
This dark copper rose consists entirely of Pinot Noir, and spends at least two years on the lees. There’s a toastiness from the aging, but also hints of berries and vaguely woodsy notions that give it definite Pinot character. Finishes long, with citrus and cream notes.
The dried raspberry, lemon curd and Asian pear flavors are crisp and detailed, with notes of white flowers, five-spice powder and toast leading to a long, lingering, juicy finish. Offers an appealing mix of power and finesse. (MW)
The NV Methode Traditionelle Rose (LR2011) has a very pale salmon-pink color and delicate nose of strawberries and cream, brioche and marzipan with a hint of roses. The palate is very fine and elegantly fruited with lively red berries and a gentle creaminess, finishing with great length. (LPB)
100% Pinot Noir on sandy loam, vines 10+ years, 36 months on lees. Dosage 6 g/l. Single vineyard, clone 5 and 105. Handpicked. Riddled and disgorged by hand. RS 8 g/l. Biodynamic, Demeter certified. Pretty Victoria plum colour. Fine mousse. A little more orange than the Lindauer. Plenty of plum and wild strawberry fruit aroma but also a fine toasty note and some development. Intense and actually quite powerful but very well balanced between fruit and freshness -- a good food wine. Mouth-watering, complex and satisfying, with a touch sweetness on the finish and a rich fruit flavour. (JH)
