Strong, deep purple-red; a rich and succulent array of red and black fruits, ripe tannins and positive oak. Blend of various vineyard sites.
*#16 on the Top 100 Wines of 2006, Highly Recommended* For a wine that doesn't feel big or broad, this Shiraz has amazing depth of flavor and focus, delivering a seamless package of blueberry, currant, plum and vanilla-spice flavors that fan out over the palate. Has compelling purity and impressive persistence.
The 2004 Shiraz Valley Floor (100% Shiraz) is a restrained, earthy, austere but attractive, medium-bodied effort offering herb-tinged black currant flavors that have more in common with a French Bordeaux than a Barossa Shiraz. (RP)
Dark red. Fruit-driven aromas of strong raspberry and wild strawberry, with a complicating note of white pepper. Very fresh on the palate, with energetic red fruit and spice flavors lifted by fresh acidity. With air, the fruit takes a darker turn, showing a note of bitter cherry. The finish is sweet, focused and long, with gentle tannins adding support. (JR)
