Good full, deep red-ruby. Wonderfully expressive nose melds superripe black cherry, leather, game and a faintly medicinal quality. Rich, dense, tactile and sweet, with outstanding concentration to the creamy middle palate. Saline minerality provides lift. Finishes with explosive sweetness, firm structure and terrific persistence. Rather massive for 2010 and a great Boudots.
Outstanding! This is also intensely floral with a mix of spice and earth nuances adding breadth to the otherwise pure and perfumed nose of red currant, plum and cassis aromas. There is excellent richness and volume to the concentrated and mouth coating medium weight plus flavors that are shaped by buried tannins on the very firm, balanced and hugely long finish. Unlike the Chaumes however, this will very likely match or even exceed its 2005 counterpart. Note however that plenty of patience will be a requisite.
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Boudots emerges from the glass with layers of silky dark red fruit, flowers, spices and crushed rocks. This is a sensual, generous style of Nuits that is very pleasing, even today. I imagine it will drink well with minimum cellaring. (AG)
