*One Star* Another very ripe Pinot from Siduri, this one certainly favors its concentrated side, but also shows enough pure varietal fruit to live up to the name. It is deep, cherryish and tinged with notes of cocoa and caramel in the nose, and its fleshy mouthfeel joins with suggestions of velvet and convincing fruit to overcome any tendency to latter palate heat.
The well-made, plum/ruby-colored 2003 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard exhibits earth, spice, underbrush, cherry, and plum-like characteristics along with a slightly angular finish. (RP)
Homes in on a tight core of earthy blackberry and black cherry fruit, finishing with a touch of spicy nutmeg and firm tannins. Needs a little time to soften up, but offers good concentration and depth.
