My favorite of this quartet is the 2010 Pinot Noir Moulin Rouge Pisoni Vineyard, which was harvested three weeks later than the 2009. The 2010 reveals lots of cassis, black raspberry jam, spring flower and loamy, dusty soil notes as well as a full-bodied, opulent style. It should drink well for a decade. (RP)

Pure, rich and polished, gliding along the palate, with a delicious core of blueberry, wild berry and raspberry fruit that's spicy and minerally, with a touch of loaminess. Gains a lift on the finish. (JL)

Bright ruby-red. Much more pungent and dark in character than the Sonoma wines, displaying scents and flavors of black raspberry, cherry-cola and candied plum. Rich and expansive, with a supple texture and impressive depth. Finishes with very good energy and length, leaving cherry and smoke notes behind. (ST)

The 2010 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge Pisoni Vineyard captures the essence of this site in rich fruit and dense, enveloping personality. Dark red cherries, raspberries, plums, menthol, cloves and spices all burst from the glass. Intense, rich and very nicely balanced, the 2010 possesses beguiling inner sweetness and lovely balance. The round, resonant finish is pure Pisoni. (AG)
