Tenuta San Francesco was established in 2004 and is set in the ancient Di Palma family estate, situated in the "green heart" of the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Under the guidance of Avellino oenologist Carmine Valentino, the tenuta produces wines using estate-grown grapes from three local historical families--Bove, d'Avino, and Giodano--who were determined to save the last pre-phylloxera vines, well over 100 years old, found in the mountainous Tramonti area. This is a blend of Falanghina, Biancolella and Pepella. Medium-bodied, with lovely acidity and a long, ripe fruit aftertaste. No malo, no oak. (Greg St. Clair, K&L Italian wine buyer)
