A vibrant, focused and deliciously complex red, offering raspberry, cherry, cinnamon, mocha and subtle sage notes rolling through the long and expressive finish. Deft. *Ranked #3, Top 100 Wines of 2013* (HS)
The 2010 Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve has a very pure, almost unassuming, nonchalant bouquet with pretty red berry fruit complemented by bay leaf and sous-bois aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, fine salinity and a gentle build to quite a convincing tea-leaf finish that is very classic in style. More depth here than the 2007, this 2010 should drink beautifully over the next decade. (NM)
Dense, dark and spicy, this opens with a thicket of briar and bramble--one almost wants to say thistle--wrapped around taut, compact black fruits. There is a hint of gun metal running through the palate, and as the wine warms and slowly opens, it reveals a lingering finish with a little pat of butter left on the tongue. This should be in fine shape for at least another decade. *Cellar Selection* (PG)
