A Zinfandel-based wine (more than 80%) with some Syrah and Mourvedre to round out the blend. The 2008 Outsider was not professionally reviewed, but the vintages immediately before and after this one garnered between 92 and 94 points from Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator. In praise for the 2007, Robert Parker said in August 2010: "Trevisan’s great strength in blending Zinfandel with Rhone varietals continues to make him the leading practitioner of these types of blends. Taking advantage of some of the old Zinfandel planted in limestone in the Paso Robles area, he does a marvelous job turning out a wine that tastes more like a Rhone Ranger than a Zinfandel."
