(16.2% alcohol): Bright, deep red. Pungent aromas of black raspberry, pepper and herbs, lifted by a mineral note from the limestone-rich soil. Wonderfully intense and energetic, with a light touch that belies its substantial alcohol. Captivating flavors of blackberry, herbs and lavender saturate the palate. Boasts a superb balance of sugar, acidity and tannins. This is spectacularly aromatic today but should really be held for a few years. (ST)
The 2012 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard is wonderfully lifted and precise, especially within the context of Paso Robles. Hints of licorice, anise and orange peel add gorgeous aromatic presence to a core of sweet red stone fruits. Already open and highly expressive, the Pesenti is another fabulous wine that will reward readers with a long and wide drinking window. (AG)

A zesty red, offering lots of character, with aromas of smoked cracked pepper and dark black cherry leading to layered, briary flavors of dried plum, black licorice and sage. Drink now through 2022. (TF)
Pretty and delicious. Floral lift on a body of red fruit with a peppery finish. Bracing acidity, nice palate tension. Lots of freshness and length. Carries alcohol easily. Nice purity. 17/20 points. (ECB)
