The 2010 Barbaresco offers a classic portrait of a beautiful wine in a celebrated vintage. There’s not much to criticize here: The fruit is fleshy and lively, the aromas are intense and well-defined, and the finish is long and juicy. There’s a playful dusting of white pepper that works exceptionally well to add focus and overall sharpness. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (ML)
A red with plum and berry character, plus hints of spice. Full body with chewy tannins and a polished finish. Very well done for the vintage in Barbaresco.
Marchesi di Barolo's 2010 Barbaresco is a lovely wine with tons of early appeal. Crushed flowers, raspberries, spices and menthol all flesh out in the glass. This is an unusually open, pliant Barbaresco for the vintage. I am sure the 2010 will find many fans, as it is drinking beautifully today. It's great to see Marchesi doing such a terrific job with their entry-level wines. (AG)
A mix of cherry, tobacco and balsamic flavors marks this lean, firm Barbaresco, which, though fluid, offers a dense base of tannins, leaving a dry impression on the finish. Best from 2016 through 2025. (BS)
