The terrific 2012 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard is a super-rich, heady wine that must have 15.5% to 16% alcohol, but it does not show any of that in its black cherry, black currant and blackberry fruit. It is peppery, spicy, full-bodied and opulent. (RP)

Bright red-ruby. Black cherry and a rocky quality on the superripe nose. Creamy and deep but classically dry and serious, showing a minty nuance to its black cherry fruit. Major tannins rather than acidity give structure to this youthfully tight wine. (ST)

A voluptuous layer of ripe raspberry and smoky, spicy fruit wraps around a well-structured core of tannins and minerally acidity. This offers accents of bay leaf, blueberry and licorice. Drink now through 2020. (TF)

Turley's 2012 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard is dark, powerful and distinctly ripe, all qualities of this site that are brought out even more by the vintage. Although a bit rough around the edges and not as polished as the very best wines in the range, the Bedrock nevertheless has plenty of personality along with the structure to age well for a number of years.
