Dark red cherries, plums, cinnamon, licorice and mint flesh out in the 2011 Pinot Noir Aidan Wildrose Vineyard. Rich, textured and beautifully layered on the palate, the 2011 stands out for its volume and breadth. The 25% whole clusters are beautifully integrated to the point of being noticeable only in the wine's texture, but less in the aromatics and flavor profile. (AG)
Bright medium red. Musky red berries and black cherry on the nose, lifted by pepper and spices. Savory and intense, with earth and spice notes adding nuance to the red berry flavors. Seamless and nicely thick for the vintage but without any impression of undue weight. This beauty is Andy Smith's favorite Pinot of the vintage. (ST)
The 2011 Pinot Noir Aidan comes entirely from the Wild Rose Vineyard, and is made from 12-year-old Dijon clones 115 and 777. About 30% whole clusters were used by winemaker Andy Smith. This beauty exhibits abundant notes of forest floor, underbrush, black currants, dark cherries, spice box, vanillin and earth. Rich and full-bodied with low acidity as well as silky tannins...(RP)
