  The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Good Times, Bad Times from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard reveals a glorious floral nose of creme de cassis and cedar, sweet vanillin, rich, creamy, medium to full-bodied flavors, and nice spicebox. Drink this serious Cabernet over the next 12-15 years. This is the North American Napa Valley outpost of Jonathan Maltus, who has a splendid reputation for his high quality offerings from St.-Emilion. This is my first look at his Napa bottlings, all of which take famous rock and roll songs as their names. (RP) 92+

  Exceptional value for top quality To-Kalon vineyard fruit. Has that classic Oakville density, deep, dusty mineral notes interwoven with the saturated black, sweet, fruit and graphite. Full bodied but not syrupy. Gives the big boys a real run for their money...especially at this special discounted price.

  It is not a secret. Cabernet is my jam! This love affair has been given a new spark with this 2010 release entitled "Good Times Bad Times," an exceedingly elegant and plush wine that combines soft-yet-prevalent tannins, black fruit, and vanilla. It's CABTASTIC!

  Wow people! It's not every day you get an opportunity to devour the coveted Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon fruit! Only the most sought after vineyard in the Napa Valley! Typically any Cab from this vineyard starts at upwards of $200. So for just $50 your getting Soo much more than your paying for. I tasted this and was like.."yep, that's Beckstoffer Fruit all-right" it was so deep, well structured, and actually drinkable now! It's everything you would expect from this pedigree and more!   Last year we tasted Chateau Teyssier with Jonathan Malthus in St Emilion on our Bordeaux Buying Trip. Behind him was the entire line of Malthus wines, including all his California wines. I thought it was odd seeing a lineup of Napa wines in the heart of St Emilion. The “big boy” in this lineup is this wine. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Beckstoffer To-Kalon vineyard. This wine shows very ripe fruit in the nose with tons of vanilla bean and cocoa powder aromas. In the mouth the wine is fairly rich and plush while the finish is round and creamy. Fans of California Cabernet will love this wine. I don’t think you will find a better deal out there for a “Beckstoffer To Kalon” fruit sourced wine!
