  An excellent blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, this wine offers attractive value for its superb quality. The wine has a dense ruby/purple color, nice cedary blackcurrant fruit, medium body and surprisingly soft, well-integrated tannins. This sleeper of the vintage should drink nicely for 5-8 years.   We carried this property in the 70s and then not until the 2002 vintage did we buy it again. This wine like the 2002 and the 2009 is a great value. Lots of merlot fruit on the palate. A bit rustic, but polished tannins.

  This is one of the many examples of how the 2012 vintage fooled us all. This nice and age-worthy wine has the tight fruit of the Cabernet Sauvignon just waiting to reveal itself. As I said, it needs time, but the nice vanilla, cassis and grenadine are all there. One could enjoy the excellent 2002 (which I will review next) while letting the 2012 rest.
