From Napa, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville possesses a dense ruby/purple color, a complex nose of forest floor, licorice, baking spices, Christmas fruitcake, blackberries and cassis intermixed with hints of coffee as well as oak. This full-bodied, supple textured, velvety, showy Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well for 10-15+ years. Since Sojourn Cellars jumped into the wild and competitive wine marketplace several years ago, they have proved to be adept at turning out a large line-up of high quality as well as good value wines. Their current offerings include three Chardonnays, six Pinot Noirs and four Cabernet Sauvignons.
Deep red. Musky red berries and beetroot on the nose, with a peppery nuance adding lift. Tangy redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors slowly pick up sweetness with air and show good clarity and lift. Darker fruits arrive on the finish, which is framed by dusty tannins. Shows good structure for an entry-level wine. (ST)
