The textbook NV Oloroso en Rama Cruz Vieja is bottled from a solera started in 1900 and the wine averages 10 years of age. It's immediately recognizable as Oloroso, and even if it's not particularly old or complex, it's really pleasant. It mixes noble woods, with bitter marmalade, tobacco and spices. The palate is round and balanced, with good intensity. (LG)
A high-pitched oloroso, with singed orange peel, dried persimmon, Brazil nut and green tea notes allied to a nervy spine. A little shy on bass, but shows plenty of cut and drive. (JL)
