The 2013 Zinfandel Rossi Ranch (15.8% natural alcohol) exhibits Rhône-like notes of wild strawberries, black cherries, garrigue, pepper, meat and charcuterie. Full-bodied, powerful, long and promising, it should drink well for 8-10 years. (RP)
The 2013 Zinfandel Rossi Ranch is rich, dark and powerful, with gorgeous textural depth and plenty of mid-palate resonance. Dark red cherries, plums, earthiness, sage and tobacco add nuance on the plush, enveloping finish. This is the first year that Rossi Ranch was farmed by vineyard guru Phil Coturri. (AG)
Inviting and complex, this is a juicy, spicy and structured Zin. It's big, bold and flavorful as one would expect, with unexpected balance and acidity. Dusty, leathery tannins wrap around black, brambly berries and black pepper, suggesting food pairings that do the same. (VB)
Supple and rich up front, but slowly takes on power and tannins toward the finish. Aromas of dark raspberry, orange zest and pepper match complex flavors of wild berry, anise and loamy mineral.
Dark crimson. Exotic and rich. Pretty dry tannins on the end. Very pure. Complex and very ambitious in terms of ageing. 17+/20 points. Drink 2018-2027. (JR)
