Knockout perfume of soft citrus fruits, menthol, wet stone and white truffle. Densely packed, saline and seamless; deceptively approachable today owing to its sheer richness and depth of flavor and its very long, sweet aftertaste. But this utterly primary wine has the stuffing for aging. Boillot recommends drinking it in the next year or so or holding it for seven or eight years; he's convinced the wine will be totally closed in two years. (ST)
A hint of residual SO2 doesn't seriously detract from the ever-so-mildly exotic floral, pear and white peach aromas that are followed by rich and mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent mid-palate concentration and mouth coating extract. The firm acid spine shapes and supports the driving finish that also displays that Chablis-like saline character. In a word, terrific.
