The 2014 Zinfandel Buck Cobb Vineyard from volcanic, granitic soils in Amador County, displays a darker fruit character, a similar dark ruby/purple color, earth, tar and deep, rich berry fruit. It cuts a relatively broad swath across the palate and conceals any sense of heat or its power (15.3% alcohol). Delicious, round, seductive and juicy, this is also a wine to drink over the next 5-6 years. (RP)
