K&L Notes

Old vines with naturally low yields. Organic farming used, manually harvested, as late as possible to achieve maximum ripeness, with rigorous sorting of the grapes. Indigenous yeasts only during whole-cluster fermentation that lasts for ten to twenty days. Semi-carbonic maceration. Wines aged on fine lees in old Burgundy barrels, then bottled without filtering.

Grown from 100+ year old vines, here you have a stellar and delicious expression from Morgon. Intensely perfumed with inviting aromas of berry fruit and orange spice, this wine shows amazing layers of luscious fruit reminiscent of pomegrante and fig. Coupled with serious structure and depth, this is a bottle built to hold, but will open up for the impatient drinker (like me) with a good hour decant. This is a splurgey Beaujolais worth the investment! Super recommended!

Power is the name of the game with the Cuvee MMXV. The tete de cuvee from Marcel Lapierre this is a connoisseur's Beaujolais meant to showcase the greatness of the vintage years from now. A firm core of tightly-wound fruit nicely buffered by acidity and tannin make this wine a legend in the making. Tuck a few of the beauties away and in a few years you'll be handsomely rewarded with greatness in the bottle.
Top Value! Drink from 2022 to 2032
