This is very sophisticated and polished with sweet-berry, cedar and cappuccino character, yet it’s so subtle. Medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a fresh finish. Drink in 2021.
Bright and complex aromas of ripe Cabernet and Malbec as well as Merlot. Plenty of lift and tension as well as supple fruit. Tannins finely honed. Builds to a long, persistent finish. Fine ageing potential.
A more restrained style, with lightly mulled dark plum, cherry and currant fruit underlined with dark tea, tobacco and dried anise notes. Shows sanguine and charcoal threads through the finish. Best from 2019 through 2027. (JM)
The 2015 Moulin Haut-Laroque is medium to deep garnet-purple colored with youthful black and red plums notes with touches of garrigue, lavender and spice box plus a waft of roses. Full-bodied with great concentration and expression, it offers vibrant black fruits and spice layers, finishing long and spicy. (LPB)
The 2015 Moulin Haut-Laroque is terrific. Rich, dense and voluptuous in the glass, it captures all of the intensity of the year while retaining a good bit of freshness. There is lovely purity to the sweet red cherry and plum flavors. Drink this racy, perfumed Fronsac over the next handful of years. Tasted two times. (AG)
