*Outstanding* More balanced wood treatment highlights the complex and highly nuanced nose that features smoke, game, underbrush, spice and earthy red berry fruit aromas that lead to rich, full and supple flavors oozing extract of red and black cherries on the complex, textured and wonderfully long finish. This is an impressive wine that will need a full 10 years to really be at its best yet there is so much dry extract that it will seem more forward than it really is early on. Drink: 2015+

Good bright, dark red-ruby. Brooding, powerful nose opens slowly with air to reveal cassis, chocolate and floral elements. Pure, deep and rich in extract, with terrific verve and definition to its chewy dark fruit flavors. In a dense, powerful style with the structure for a long life in bottle, but already sappy-sweet and fine-grained. This remained stubbornly closed in the recorked bottle, with some pungent oak tones emerging after 48 hours. I'd forget about this until 2016 or so. 91(+?) points. (ST)
