The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Her Majesty’s Secret Service Stagecoach Vineyard boasts serious depth, density and power. Dark, red berries, sweet spices, crushed flowers and licorice are all woven together in this round, succulent wine. Mocha, tobacco and flowers appear on the finish. Overall, this is a fairly delicate and refined version of the M5 parcel within the Stagecoach Vineyard. The wine with an impossibly long name is also a fairly accessible 2010 that should drink well pretty much upon release. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (AG)
A fleshy, generous style, with fruit-forward plum, black cherry and raspberry notes, shaded by spice and floral scents. The tannins are mild-mannered, letting the flavors flow through on the finish. Drink now through 2024. (JL)
Good medium ruby, a bit less saturated than the Acteon. Cassis, blueberrry, licorice, herbs and mint on the rather cool nose. Rather dry and uncompromising on the palate, with medicinal black fruit flavors accompanied by tobacco leaf and a slightly rustic leathery quality. Is there enough mid-palate stuffing here to support the rather tough tannins? Aaron Pott did a shorter maceration for this wine than for the Acteon. (ST)
