Aromas of ripe berry, Mediterranean herb, menthol and eucalyptus lead the nose. The medium-bodied palate is already somewhat evolved offering blackberry extract, mature black cherry, licorice, spice and espresso alongside polished tannins. It closes on a note of bitter walnut. (KO)
The 2012 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is composed of 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato. This is a well composed and refreshing red wine that reveals bright berry nuances that are focused and well proportioned. The hearty and fleshy Nero d'Avola side of the wine makes a perfect partner to the graceful and feminine Frappato side. That symmetry is also evident in the mouth where the wine imparts silky tannins and a dry finish. (ML)

Nero d’Avola and Frappato grown in red, sandy soils coexist harmoniously in this smooth and polished wine, with notes of spice and licorice accenting its red cherry fruit. The flavors are rich and concentrated, lifted by light floral scents. This would make a delicious companion for roasted leg of lamb.
