K&L Notes

Matt Trevisan is the brain behind Linne Calodo, a Paso Robles winery that the Wine Advocate has praised, saying: "To my palate, this estate is at the top of their game. The wines have incredible purity across the board, and while they pack serious flavor and depth, they never seem heavy, over-the-top or cumbersome in the least. You can't go wrong with any of these." (JD, 04/2014) This mostly Zinfandel blend is named for its problematic first vintage, demanding extra attention but becoming one of the estate's most celebrated wines. The winemaker offers the following tasting notes for 2014: "Plums, cranberries and boysenberries are complemented by black pepper, cigar and cocoa bean. Gentle tannins and a buoyancy of liquidity make Problem Child a mid-weight fighter. Aged in a mix of American and French oak. Drink now through 2021."
